Buttner, Christoph Andreas
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born Oct. 31,1706, at Nuremberg. He studied at Altorf, and for a time was professor of philosophy at Halle. In 1737 he was called to Stettin; and in 1754 as rector to Stralsund, where he died, Oct. 24,1774. He wrote, Disp. quafacta Qucedam Abrahami Secundum jus Naturce Considerantur (Altorf, 1727): — -Disp. qua Judicium de non Existentia Diaboli Dijudicatur (ibid. 1734): — Disp. de Insufficientia Rationis ad Salutem (ibid. 1735) : — Cursus Theologice Revelatce (Stettin, 1746): — Accentuationis Hebrceae Introductio (ibid. 1747): — Hebrew Grammar (Halle, 1748) : — Ratio Chaldaismum Biblicum Formandi (Stettin, 1753).
