a Presbyterian minister, was born at Elizabeth, N.J., March 18, 1796. He graduated from the College of New Jersey in 1814, and spent the next two years in teaching. He then studied theology at Princeton for one year; became stated supply in Morristown for one year; was ordained by the Presbytery of New Jersey, January 5, 1820; was pastor at Springfield, N.J., till 1826, and thereafter at Jamaica, L.I., until his death, November 10, 1840.
