a clergyman of the French Reformed Church, was born in 1649, and removed to America in the latter part of the 17th century. He had ministered in the early Huguenot settlements in Massachusetts for some time, when the Reformed Dutch Church in New York engaged him, in 1683, to preach to the French Reformed Church in that city, as colleague of Henricus Selyns. After 1792, he devoted himself to itinerant missionary work among the Huguenots, preaching occasionally at New Paltz, in Ulster County, N.Y., for several years; also at New Rochelle, Westchester County, and on Staten Island. In 1696 he became the minister of the French Reformed Church in Boston, where he died, May 20, 1715. See Col. Hist. of N.Y. 3:651, and Mass. 2:52; DeWitt, Hist.
