an English Baptist minister, was born at Shenfield, Essex, November 13, 1817. He was converted at twenty, and was baptized by the Reverend W. Upton; sailed for Ceylon in 1840, and for some time did the printing at the mission press there; afterwards took charge of the station at Matura, till his health failed, and sailed for England February 10, 1850, but was never again heard of.
