an Italian theologian, was born at Geneva in 1734. He was converted from Judaism by a priest of his native city, and received baptism in 1753. He entered the clerical ranks, and, after spending several years in missionary work, was called in 1783 to teach theology at Florence; and died February 17, 1821, leaving several controversial treatises, for which see Hoefer, Nouv.
