a Genoese prelate and theologian, was born at Moneglia in 1501. He was a Franciscan, and became general of his order. In 1557 Paul IV made him cardinal, with the title of Sainte-Marie de Ara Celi, and bishop of Foligno. He died at Rome, January 6, 1568, leaving, Compendium Catholicarum Institutionum (Rome, 1562): De Symbola Apostolorum:De Sacramentis: De Praeceptis Divinis: De Peccatis et Eorum Diferentiis: De Consiliis Evangelicis: De Coelibatu Sacerdotum: De OEcumenico Concilio, etc. See Hoefer, Nouv.
