a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born October 9, 1745. He studied at Konigsberg, where Kant's lectures greatly influenced him. In 1778 he was appointed pastor of the royal hospital at Kdnigsberg, and died there, September 19, 1801, leaving Homilien uber mernkwurdige Erzahlungen cous der Geschichte Jesu (Kdnigsberg, 1799, 3 volumes).
