a Baptist minister, was born at Cavendish, Vermont, October 28, 1796; graduated from Dartmouth College; studied law, and practiced it in his native village; became a teacher in the academy at North Bennington; was licensed, and in 1843 called to a pastoral charge in the latter place, and so continued until his death at Townshend, November 26, 1871.
