a French historian and theologian, was born in the diocese of Rheims, in the latter part of the 15th century. He was a Jesuit for some time, and taught in the colleges of that society; but left it to enter the University of Paris, where he was made doctor in 1623. He was admitted to the College of Navarre in 1624, and became in 1635 grand-master of it.
