an eminent English Wesleyan minister, was born at Chester, March 21, 1764. He was converted by remarkable providences, and called to the ministry by Wesley in 1785. He was president of the conference in 1817. In 1835 he was laid aside by a stroke of paralysis, and died at Chelsea, London, June 19, 1839.
