a Jewish convert of the 12th century, was a native of Cologne. His Jewish name was Judah Levi. After his conversion he entered the order of the Premonstratensians, and became abbot of Cappenberg, in Westphalia. He wrote Opusculum de Conversione Sua, preserved in the university library at Leipsic, and printed with Raymund Martin's Pugio Fidei. Herman also wrote Vita S. Godefridi Cappenborgenisis, found in the Acta Sanctorum under January 13. See Bartolocci, Bibl.
