a Presbyterian minister, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 28, 1814. He was among the early graduates of Lafayette College, and in 1833 became a student of theology with Dr. William Neill. He was licensed to preach in 1837, and the next year ordained pastor of the Frankford Church, now in the bounds of Philadelphia. In 1849 he removed to Pittsburgh, to take charge of the Second Presbyterian Church, where he continued to labor faithfully until his death, September 22, 1876. He published occasional Sermons.
