a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Culmbach, May 6, 1780. For some time rector of the gymnasium at Hof, he was called in 1818 as professor of the gymnasium at Bayreuth, and died in 1855. He is the author of, Die philosophische und christliche Gotteslehre (Nuremberg, 1831): — Philosophie und Christenthum (Bayreuth, 1832): — Die philosophische Unsterblichkeitslehre (1834): — Das Christenthum als Welt-Religion (Ratisbon, 1839): — Ist Jesus Christus mit vollem Rechte den Tod eines Verbrechers gestorben?
