(1 Maccabees 8:1; 1 Maccabees 8:23-29; 1 Maccabees 12:16; 1 Maccabees 14:40; 1 Maccabees 15:16; 2 Maccabees 8:10; 2 Maccabees 8:36; 2 Maccabees 11:34; John 11:48; Acts 2:10; Acts 16:21; Acts 16:37-38; Acts 22:25-29; Acts 23:27; Acts 25:16; Acts 28:17). Such persons, wherever born, were entitled to special privileges. (See CITIZENSHIP).
