a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Bovenden, kingdom of Hanover, Jan.. 10, 1800. In 1836 he emigrated to the United States, and settled in Wheeling, W.Va.: The following year he was converted and joined the Church. Soon after he entered the travelling ministry, among his countrymen. He labored until April, 1860, when he had a paralytic stroke. His effective relation to the Conference then ceased. In March, 1865, he had a second paralytic stroke, and in July a third stroke followed. He died Sept. 4, 1865, being at the time a member of the Central German Conference.
