an English clergyman, was born at Oxton; Cheshire, in 1613; and was educated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford, and Trinity College, Dublin. He was minister of several parishes in Ireland, and afterwards became rector of Winwick, England. He died in 1689. His works are, Answer to the Quakers Objection to Ministers (Lond. 1656, 4to): — Quakers Wild Questions Answered (ibid. 1656, 12mo): — Mercurius Christianus, or The Practical Christian (ibid. 1673, 8vo): — and Sermons, etc. See Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer.
