a clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal Church, died in Brooklyn, N. Y., July 24, 1865, aged sixty-two years. He was the oldest chaplain in the United States Navy, and served under commodore Reed in his expedition against the Malays; was in the Mexican War; and was chaplain of the flag- ship "Hiartford," in command of admiral Farragut, during the Rebellion.
