a Baptist minister, was born at Ward, Massachusetts, September 12, 1812. He graduated from Brown University in 1835, and from the Newton Theological Institution in 1838, became pastor at Chicopee the same year, at North Troy, N.Y., in 1849, secretary of the American Baptist Mission Union in 1855, resigned in 1872, and died at Newton Centre, Massachusetts, February 27, 1884.
