a Presbyterian minister, was born in Sutton, N.H., October 7, 1810. He studied at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1839 and from the Union Theological Seminary in 1842. For six years he was pastor of the Sixth Presbyterian Church in. New York city, and thereafter of the First Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, N.Y., until his death, October 21, 1883.
