a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at New Hartford, N.Y. He declined a flattering business offer when h e entered the ministry; officiated some time as local preacher; studied theology in. Boston University; and in 1855 joined the Oneida, now Wyoming, Conference; serving as pastor at Vernon Center, Mount Upton, Norwich, Unadilla, and Cooperstown. He died March 9, 1875. Although Mr. Wadsworth was not a showy or brilliant speaker, yet his sound, instructive, practical sermons made him a great power in the Church. In his daily life he was peculiarly affectionate, faithful, and exemplary. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1875, p. 60.
