 [כֶּ֫סֶת] noun feminine band, fillet (= charm or amulet according to Ehpraimitic source Syriac, φυλακτήρια according to ὁ Ἑβραῖος of Hexapl., compare RS JPh xiii, 286; in Late Hebrew כסת usually = cushion, bolster, pillow), only plural מְתַמְּרוֺת כְּסָתוֺת עַלֿ Ezekiel 13:18 women sewing bands upon elbows; with suffix 2 feminine plural כִּסְתוֺתֵיכֶ֫נָה Ezekiel 13:20.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

כֶּסֶת pl. f. כְּסָתוֹת cushions, pillows. Ezekiel 13:18, 20 Ezekiel 13:20. LXX. προσκεφάλαια. Vulg. pulvilli. According to the Rabbins, bolsters. The root is כָּסָה. The letter ת, although not radical, and here marking the feminine gender, is also preserved in the pl. as in קֶשֶׁת דֶּלֶת, compare Lehrg. p. 474.
