אֲכַל fut. יֵאכֻל Ch. i.q. Heb., to eat, to devour, אֲכַל קַרְצוֹהִי דִי to eat any one’s pieces, metaph. to calumniate him, to accuse him, Daniel 3:8, 6:25. So in Targg. אֲכַל קוּרְצִין for Heb. רָגַל, ·הָלַךְ רָכִיל (Syr. ܐܶܒܰܠ ܩܰܪܨܳܐ for the Gr. διαβάλλω, Lu. 16:1 whence part. ܐܳܒܶܠ ܩܰܪܨܳܐ devil, Arab. أَكَلَ احم فلان id.) [see Ch. קְרַץ.]
