Participle plural נִגָּרִים 2 Samuel 14:14; נִגָּרוֺת Job 20:28; —

1 be poured, spilt, 2 Samuel 14:14 (כַּמַּיִםמֻגָּרִים אַרְצָה in simile of mortality).

2 pour oneself, flow, trickle, of eye (in tears) Lamentations 3:49.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

נָגַר unused in Kal, pr. to flow, see Chald. נְגַר to draw out, and to flow; compare Heb מָגַר, and גָּרַר No. 1.

Niphal

(1) to be poured out, to flow, used of water, 2 Samuel 14:14 used of the eye, Lamentations 3:49.

(2) to be stretched out (used of the hand), Psalms 77:3. As to נִגָּרוֹת, Job 20:28 see גָּרַר Niph.

Hiphil הִגִּיר

(1) to pour out, Psalms 75:9.

(2) to push down (stones from a mountain), Micah 1:6.

(3) figuratively to deliver (compare הֶעֱרָה to pour out, to deliver) in this phrase הִגִּיר פּ׳ עַל־יְדֵי חֶרֶב to deliver any one into the hands, i.e. into the power of the sword (compare עַל יְדֵי after verbs of delivering p. 331, A ); Ezekiel 35:5; Jeremiah 18:21; Psalms 63:11 commonly ill rendered, to pour out by the hands of the sword.

Hophal הֻגַּר to be poured out, to be poured down, used of water, Micah 1:4.
