And he said, I am God, the God of your father: don't be afraid to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation:

And Jacob said to Joseph, God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me here. And he said, Bring them, I pray you, to me, and I will bless them.

And Israel said to Joseph, I had not thought to see your face: and, look, God has let me see your seed also.

And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,

And he blessed them that day, saying, In you [Joseph] will Israel bless, saying, God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

And Israel said to Joseph, Look, I die: but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.

Even by the God of your father, who shall help you, And by the Almighty, who shall bless you, With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that crouches beneath, Blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.

So you shall say to Joseph, Forgive, I pray you now, the transgression of your brothers, and their sin, because they did to you evil. And now, we pray you, forgive the transgression of the slaves of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

And Joseph said to them, Don't be afraid: for am I in the place of God?

And as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.

And Joseph said to his brothers, I die; but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

And Joseph took an oath of the sons of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.

But the midwives feared God, and didn't do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men-children alive.

And God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them households.

And it came to pass in the course of those many days, that the king of Egypt died: and the sons of Israel sighed by reason of the slavery, and they cried, and their cry came up to God by reason of the slavery.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

And God saw the sons of Israel, and God took knowledge [of them].

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.
