If his sons are honored, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he does not see it.

And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God,

whom I will see for myself, and whom my own eyes will behold, and not another. My heart grows faint within me.

"Is not God on high in heaven? And see the lofty stars, how high they are!

Thick clouds are a veil for him, so he does not see us, as he goes back and forth in the vault of heaven.'

The righteous see their destruction and rejoice; the innocent mock them scornfully, saying,

In the north when he is at work, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I see no trace of him.

"Why are times not appointed by the Almighty? Why do those who know him not see his days?

And the eye of the adulterer watches for the twilight, thinking, ‘No eye can see me,' and covers his face with a mask.

the young men would see me and step aside, and the old men would get up and remain standing;

Does he not see my ways and count all my steps?

See now, I have opened my mouth; my tongue in my mouth has spoken.

He strikes them for their wickedness, in a place where people can see,

But if God is quiet, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, then who can see him? Yet he is over the individual and the nation alike,

Teach me what I cannot see. If I have done evil, I will do so no more.'

Gaze at the heavens and see; consider the clouds, which are higher than you!
