And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'"

And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here,

And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

"Let us alone! What do we have to do with You, Jesus the Nazarene? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!"

And demons also were coming out of many, shouting and saying, "You are the Son of God!" But rebuking them, He was not allowing them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.

But He said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose."

Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing at the edge of the lake of Gennesaret;

The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"

And immediately he rose up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.

And astonishment seized them all and they began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen remarkable things today."

how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?"

Now it happened that at this time He went off to the mountain to pray, and He was spending the whole night in prayer to God.

And turning His gaze toward His disciples, He began to say,"Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

And fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"

I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

And it happened that soon afterward He was going around from one city and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him,

And He said, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

"Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.

But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it."

Now seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, "What do I have to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me."
