When the upright see this, they rejoice; while the wicked are reduced to silence.

I have become the object of their taunts; when they see me, they shake their heads.

The wicked will be angry when they see this; they will gnash their teeth and waste away, the desires of the wicked will come to nothing.

They have mouths, but they can't speak; they have eyes, but they can't see;

Open my eyes, so that I will see wonders from your Torah.

See how I long for your precepts; in your righteousness, give me life!

I see the limits of all perfection, but your mitzvah has no bounds.

See how I love your precepts, Adonai ; in keeping with your grace, revive me.

May Adonai bless you from Tziyon! May you see Yerushalayim prosper all the days of your life,

and may you live to see your children's children! Shalom on Isra'el.

Your eyes could see me as an embryo, but in your book all my days were already written; my days had been shaped before any of them existed.

See if there is in me any hurtful way, and lead me along the eternal way.

For Adonai might see it, and it would displease him; he might withdraw his anger from your foe.
