"See, I have found this," says the Preacher, "adding one thing to another to find an explanation,

See, I have found only this, that God made men upright, but they have sought out many devices."

When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the endeavor which has been done on the earth (even though one never sees sleep with his eyes day or night),

See life with the woman whom you love all the days of your vain life, which He has given to you under the sun—all the days of your vanity; for this is your portion in life and in your labor in which you have labored under the sun.

Also this I came to see as wisdom under the sun, and it was great to me.

The light is sweet, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.

The people who walk in darknessWill see a great light;Those who live in the land of the shadow of death,The light will shine on them.

And you made a reservoir between the two wallsFor the waters of the old pool.But you did not look to Him who made it,Nor did you see Him who formed it long ago.
