In that day they will roar over it, like the roaring of the sea. If one looks over the land, he will see darkness and distress; even the light will be obscured by clouds.

Make the hearts of this people calloused; deafen their ears and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.

Then they will look to the earth and see only distress and darkness and the gloom of anguish. And they will be driven into utter darkness.

And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear,

Those who see you will stare; they will ponder your fate: "Is this the man who shook the earth and made the kingdoms tremble,

All you people of the world and dwellers of the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it; when a trumpet sounds, you will hear it.

And on that day the dwellers of this coastland will say, 'See what has happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?'"

Therefore my body is filled with anguish. Pain grips me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am bewildered to hear, I am dismayed to see.

Though grace is shown to the wicked man, he does not learn righteousness. In the land of righteousness he acts unjustly and fails to see the majesty of the LORD.

O LORD, Your hand is upraised, but they do not see it. They will see Your zeal for Your people, and be put to shame. The fire set for Your enemies will consume them!

So this is what the Lord GOD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken.

On that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of the deep darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

The Lord will give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, but your Teacher will no longer hide Himself-with your own eyes you will see Him.

Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

Your eyes will see the King in His beauty and behold a land that stretches afar.

You will no longer see the insolent, a people whose speech is unintelligible, who stammer in a language that is not understood.

Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful pasture, a tent that does not wander; its tent pegs will not be pulled up, nor will any of its cords be loosened.

It will bloom abundantly and even rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see. Listen to all the words that Sennacherib has sent to defy the living God.

I said that I will never see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living; I will no longer look on mankind with those who dwell in this world.
