Blessed is the [noble] man that makes Yahweh his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed on the earth; And you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

Yahweh will support him on the couch of languishing: You make all his bed in his sickness.

My enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish?

And if he comes to see [me], he speaks falsehood; His heart gathers iniquity to itself: When he goes abroad, he tells it.

Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who ate of my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.

[Yet] Yahweh will command his loving-kindness in the day-time; And in the night his song shall be with me, [Even] a prayer to the God of my life.

The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted.

God reigns over the nations: God sits on his holy throne.

Don't be afraid when one is made rich, When the glory of his house is increased.

He calls to the heavens above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people:

Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me; And to him that orders his way [aright] I will show the salvation of God.

Look, this is the [prominent] man that did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his plunder.
