For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm, a song. God be merciful to us, and bless us, [And] cause his face to shine on us; Selah.

For the Chief Musician; A Psalm of David, a song. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; Let them also that hate him flee before him.

Sing to God, sing praises to his name: Cast up a highway for him that rides through the deserts; His name is Yah; and exult before him.

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation.

Why do you look askance, you high mountains, At the mountain which God has desired for his abode? Yes, Yahweh will dwell [in it] forever.

But God will smite through the head of his enemies, The hairy scalp of such a one as goes on still in his guiltiness.

To him that rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old; Look, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.

Ascribe strength to God: His excellency is over Israel, And his strength is in the skies.

O God, [you are] awesome out of your holy places: The God of Israel, he gives strength and power to [his] people. Blessed be God.

For Yahweh hears the needy, And does not despise his prisoners.

The seed also of his slaves shall inherit it; And those that love his name shall dwell therein.

In his days shall righteousness flourish, And abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.

Those that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust.

He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence; And precious will their blood be in his eyes:

His name shall endure forever; His name shall increase as long as the sun: And men shall be blessed in him; All nations shall call him happy.

And blessed be his glorious name forever; And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen, and Amen.

Therefore his people return here: And waters of a full [cup] are drained by them.

In Salem also is his tabernacle, And his dwelling-place in Zion.

Is his loving-kindness clean gone forever? Does his promise fail for evermore?
