He must not defile himself even for his father or his mother or his brother or his sister if they die, because the separation for his God is on his head.

If you go to war in your land against an adversary who opposes you, then you must sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

"Also in the time when you rejoice, such as on your appointed festivals or at the beginnings of your months, you must blow with your trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings, so that they may become a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God."

Then Moses cried to the Lord , "Heal her now, O God."

Thus you will remember and obey all my commandments and be holy to your God.

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord your God."

Does it seem too small a thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the community of Israel to bring you near to himself, to perform the service of the tabernacle of the Lord , and to stand before the community to minister to them?

Then they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said, "O God, the God of the spirits of all people, will you be angry with the whole community when only one man sins?"

And the people spoke against God and against Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food."

And God came to Balaam and said, "Who are these men with you?"

Balaam said to God, "Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent a message to me, saying,

But God said to Balaam, "You must not go with them; you must not curse the people, for they are blessed."

Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, "Even if Balak would give me his palace full of silver and gold, I could not transgress the commandment of the Lord my God to do less or more.

God came to Balaam that night, and said to him, "If the men have come to call you, get up and go with them, but the word that I will say to you, that you must do."

Balaam said to Balak, "Look, I have come to you. Now, am I able to speak just anything? I must speak only the word that God puts in my mouth."

Then God met Balaam, who said to him, "I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram."

How can I curse one whom God has not cursed, or how can I denounce one whom the Lord has not denounced?

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a human being, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it happen?

He has not looked on iniquity in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; his acclamation as king is among them.
