For if someone weak sees you who possess knowledge dining in an idol's temple, will not his conscience be "strengthened" to eat food offered to idols?

Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?

Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disgraces his head.

For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.

For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.

The secrets of his heart are disclosed, and in this way he will fall down with his face to the ground and worship God, declaring, "God is really among you."

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to him.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

For he has put everything in subjection under his feet . But when it says "everything" has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.

So then, let no one treat him with contempt. But send him on his way in peace so that he may come to me. For I am expecting him with the brothers.

With regard to our brother Apollos: I strongly encouraged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was simply not his intention to come now. He will come when he has the opportunity.

so that we may not be exploited by Satan (for we are not ignorant of his schemes).

But if the ministry that produced death—carved in letters on stone tablets—came with glory, so that the Israelites could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face (a glory which was made ineffective),

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from staring at the result of the glory that was made ineffective.

We do so because we know that the one who raised up Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus and will bring us with you into his presence.

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea through us. We plead with you on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to God!"

We were encouraged not only by his arrival, but also by the encouragement you gave him, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your deep concern for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

Therefore we have been encouraged. And in addition to our own encouragement, we rejoiced even more at the joy of Titus, because all of you have refreshed his spirit.

And his affection for you is much greater when he remembers the obedience of you all, how you welcomed him with fear and trembling.
