And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of [your] substance that falls to me. And he divided to them his living.

And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country; and there he wasted his substance with riotous living.

And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

And he desired to have filled his belly with the pods that the swine ate: and no man gave to him.

And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

But the father said to his slaves, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out, and entreated him.

But he answered and said to his father, Look, these many years I serve you as a slave, and I never transgressed a commandment of yours; and [yet] you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends:

And he said also to the disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and the same was accused to him that he was wasting his goods.

And calling to him each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much do you owe to my lord?

And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.

Every one that divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and he that marries her that has been divorced from a husband commits adultery.

and a certain beggar named Lazarus was laid at his gate, full of sores,

and desiring to be fed with the [crumbs] that fell from the rich man's table; yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.

And he said to his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him, through whom they come!

It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
