and you have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I don't know him, I shall be like you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word.

And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth.

And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?

Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay,

Now it was the Sabbath on the day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. And he said to them, He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.

The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,

His parents therefore answered and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

but how he now sees, we don't know; or who opened his eyes, we don't know: ask him; he is of age; he shall speak for himself.

These things his parents said, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him [to be] Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

Therefore his parents said, He is of age; ask him.

He answered them, I told you even now, and you did not hear; why do you want to hear it again? do you also want to become his disciples?

And they reviled him, and said, You are his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.

We know that God does not hear sinners: but if any man is a worshiper of God, and does his will, him he hears.

To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

When he has put forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

He that is a hired worker, and not a shepherd, whose sheep are not his own, watches the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees, and the wolf snatches them, and scatters [them]:

And it was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
