Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude comes to him, says to Philip, From where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, says to him,

And when they were filled, he says to his disciples, Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost.

And when evening came, his disciples went down to the sea;

On the next day the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, save one, and that Jesus didn't enter with his disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples went away alone.

When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you don't have life in yourselves.

Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard [this], said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it?

But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, Does this cause you to stumble?

On this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

His brothers therefore said to him, Depart from here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see your works which you do.

For even his brothers did not believe on him.

But when his brothers went up to the feast, then he went up also, not publicly, but as it were in secret.

Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.

If any man wills to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or [whether] I speak from myself.

He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.

These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man took him; because his hour was not yet come.

You are of the father the devil, and the desires of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.
