This is what Noach did; he did all that God ordered him to do.

couples, male and female, went in to Noach in the ark, as God had ordered Noach.

Those that entered went in, male and female, from every kind of living being, as God had ordered him; and Adonai shut him inside.

God remembered Noach, every living thing and all the livestock with him in the ark; so God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water began to go down.

(iv) God said to Noach,

God blessed Noach and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.

Whoever sheds human blood, by a human being will his own blood be shed; for God made human beings in his image.

(v) God spoke to Noach and his sons with him; he said,

God added, "Here is the sign of the covenant I am making between myself and you and every living creature with you, for all generations to come:

The rainbow will be in the cloud; so that when I look at it, I will remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of any kind on the earth."

God said to Noach, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between myself and every living creature on the earth."

Then he said, "Blessed be Adonai , the God of Shem; Kena‘an will be their servant.

May God enlarge Yefet; he will live in the tents of Shem, but Kena‘an will be their servant."

Malki-Tzedek king of Shalem brought out bread and wine. He was cohen of El ‘Elyon [God Most High],

Avram replied, " Adonai , God, what good will your gifts be to me if I continue childless; and Eli‘ezer from Dammesek inherits my possessions?

He replied, " Adonai , God, how am I to know that I will possess it?"

The angel of Adonai said to her, "Look, you are pregnant, and you will give birth to a son. You are to call him Yishma‘el [God pays attention] because Adonai has paid attention to your misery.

So she named Adonai who had spoken with her El Ro'i [God of seeing], because she said, "Have I really seen the One who sees me [and stayed alive]?"

When Avram was 99 years old Adonai appeared to Avram and said to him, "I am El Shaddai [God Almighty]. Walk in my presence and be pure-hearted.

Avram fell on his face, and God continued speaking with him:
