For what portion would I have then from God who is above, and what heritage from the Almighty who is on high?

Let me be weighed in a just balance, that God may know my integrity.

Without saying, What then shall I do when God rises up in judgment, and when he inquires, what shall I answer him?

For the fear of God made me to tremble, and affliction from him came upon me, and because of terror I was unable to rise up.

Then God has seen my crafty ways, and I have lied before him.

If I have trampled upon the rights of the others (but on the contrary, it is the multitude of families which has ruined me. Nor have I turned away anyone at the door; or engaged in gossip) let the provocations of God lay me low!

O that one would hear me! If God is present, let him answer me, and let him write the sentence in a book.

Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was angry; so his wrath against Job kindled, because he justified himself more than God.

So that you could not say, We have found wisdom. God has smitten him, not man.

The Spirit of God has stirred me up, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

For I am also like you before God; I also am formed out of clay.

Behold, in this you cannot justify yourself; I will answer you, that God is greater than man.

For God speaks once; he does not speak a second time;

And he shall pray to God, and he will hear him and be pleased with him, and God shall appear before him with glory; for he will render to men his righteousness.

Lo, all these things God does three times with a man,

For Job has said, I am righteous; and God has turned aside my judgment.

For he has said that a man is not justified because he fears God.

Therefore hearken to me, O you men of understanding; far be it from God that he should do wickedness; and far be it from him that he should commit iniquity.

Truly, God does not commit iniquity, neither does God pervert justice.

For he has not set a time for a man that he should enter into judgment with God.
