Micah 5:14 — pluck up = root up, or tear down. thy groves = thine 'Asherahs. App-42 . Reference to Pentateuch (Exodus 34:13 .Deuteronomy 7:5 ; Deuteronomy 12:3 ). thy cities. Ginsburg thinks "thine idols". Authorized Version margin suggests "enemies".
Nahum 3:2 — The noise, &c . Between verses: Nahum 3:1-2 supply the logical Ellipsis ( App-6 ), thus: "is not released. [Hark! the enemy is within thy gates! ] The noise of a whip . . . chariot". jumping = bumping, or sounding.
Matthew 24:13 — shall endure = shall have endured. the end. Greek. telos , the actual end. Not the sunteleia (Matthew 24:3 ), but the same as in Matthew 24:6 and Matthew 24:14 . saved = delivered (1 Thessalonians 1:10 ).
Luke 11:35 — Take heed = Seq. Greek. skopeo. Occurs only here Romans 16:17 . 2 Corinthians 4:18 . Galatians 1:6 , Galatians 1:1 .Philippians 1:2 , Philippians 1:4 ; Philippians 3:17 , light . Greek phos. See App-130 .
