Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words
lit., "a joint opinion, mind or understanding" (sun, "with," gnome, "an opinion"), "a fellow feeling," hence, "a concession, allowance," is translated "permission," in contrast to "commandment," in 1 Corinthians 7:6 .
