a Brazilian Jesuit and poet, was a native of Bahia. He taught theology, took charge of the novices of the Convent of Bahia, and went to Rome as attorney-general of the province of Brazil. On his return he was given the oversight of the College of Pernambuco, and in 1685 died at Bahia, where he held the position of rector. He left in manuscript a poem entitled Passio Servatoris Nostri.
