a Baptist minister, was born at Paxton, Massachusetts, April 25, 1818. He studied two years at Brown University, and graduated from Columbia College, N.Y.; studied theology first in New York, and completed his education in Berlin, Germany. Soon after his return he became pastor at Bristol, R.I.; subsequently at Middleborough, Mass.; Keesville, N.Y.; and established a church at St. Albans, Vermont. In 1872 he became associated with his brother in conducting the Athenseum Seminary, Brooklyn, N.Y. He died June 20, 1884. Dr. Bigelow was an eloquent preacher, and a man of scholarly attainments.
