(Heb. Biztzha', בַּזְתָא, according to Gesenius, for the Persian beste, "castrated;" but First compares the last syllable with the Sanscrit zata, "horn;" the termination that is evidently Persic; (See BIGTHA); Sept. Βαζεά v. r. Βαζάν), the second of the seven eunuchs ('"chamberlains") of the harem of Xerxes (Ahasuerus) who were ordered to bring Vashti forth for exhibition (Esther 1:10). B.C. 483.
