a Presbyterian minister, was born at Fagg's Manor, Chester County, Pa., in 1741. He graduated at New Jersey College in 1760; and afterwards served as tutor there for nearly three years. He was licensed to preach by the Newcastle Presbytery in 1764. In November, 1766, he was installed pastor of the Old South Church in Boston as a colleague of Rev. Dr. Sewall. He died in September, 1818. Dr. Blair was a man of polished manners, of amiable and generous disposition. "He was a good scholar, a well-read theologian, and an accomplished pulpit orator."
