Bolton, Robert (1),

an English clergyman, was born in 1697, and educated at Wadham College, Oxford. He became dean of Carlisle in 1735, and died in 1763. He wrote, The Employment of Time (1750): The Ghost of Ernest (1757): Letters and Tracts on the Choice of Company, etc. (1761): and some other works. See Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer.
