a minister of the Methodist Church in Canada, was born on the Bay of Fundy, August 8, 1809. In 1818 his parents went to Toronto, where he was converted. In 1827 he entered the itinerant ranks, in which he occupied prominent stations in Canada, London, Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, and elsewhere. He died in Toronto, Canada, December 13, 1884. For nearly thirty years he was chairman of the districts in which his appointments were located. He was a most faithful and laborious pastor. Besides the history of his early years, called My Boy Life, he published several small volumes, a number of pamphlets and magazine articles, especially Case and his Contemporaries (Toronto, 1867, 5 volumes).
