Cook, Albert A.
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
or a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Warehouse Point, Connecticut, September 24, 1817. He early gave proof of a noble character by caring for the family on the death of his father; joined the Church at the age of eighteen, and, after several years of study and teaching, united with the New England Conference in 1842, and began his pastoral life at Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. He continued his ministry at Shelburne Falls, Chester Village (now Huntington), North Brdokfield, Princeton, Oxford, and in 1851 at Milford (all in Massachusetts), where he died, February 4, 1880. Mr. Cook spent his latter years as a dentist; was a member of the General Court of Massachusetts in 1850, 1855, and 1864; and served once in the Senate and twice in the House. He was a Christian gentleman, of fine presence and great urbanity; a natural, excellent preacher and expositor; was benevolent, and everywhere highly esteemed.
