(שֶׁרֶוֹ, she'rets, any swarming creature; or רֶמֶשׂ, re'mes, any low-gliding animal; ἑρπετόν ) is used in Scripture to designate not only reptiles, properly so called, but also insects, aquatic creatures, and even the smaller mammalia. (See REPTILE).
