(Heb. Che'lets, חֵלֶוֹ or חֶלֶוֹ, in pause ח לֶוֹ Cha'lets, perh. loin or strong; Sept. Χαλλίς. or Χελλης v.r. Σελλής; Vulg. Heles, Helles), the name of two men.
1. Son of Azariah and father of Eleasah, of the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 2:39). B.C. apparently ante 1017.
2. An Ephraimite of Pelon, and one of David's warriors, and afterwards captain of his seventh regiment (2 Samuel 23:26; 1 Chronicles 11:27; 1 Chronicles 28:10). B.C. 1014 et ante.
