a Presbyterian minister, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in May 1769. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, studied theology with his father, Dr. James Latta, was ordained over the Church in Great Valley, Pennsylvania, in 1798, and continued there until his death in February 1847.
